The roots of Casa Yerbera

When it came time to formulate for Casa Yerbera, I wanted to capture the warmth and intention I grew up witnessing. My first memories with plants come from watching my abuelita making her remedies in Bogota, Colombia. I remember as a child watching her tending to her garden—a sprig of yerba buena floating in our agua de panela, the smell of guascas adding warmth to the ajiaco at lunch, or the brightness of freshly harvested maracuya plucked from the vine that morning. These weren't just meals. They were medicine, woven into everyday life.

Honoring tradition and wisdom

At Casa Yerbera, we aim to honor the wisdom of the traditional plant medicine we carry in our bones—and the desire for true healing that addresses the whole person: body, spirit, and emotional state.

Each ingredient we use is selected not just for its individual properties, but for how it harmonizes with the others. We respect the plant knowledge our ancestors passed down, while honoring what modern herbalism has taught us about supporting wellness. Most of our ingredients we either grow ourselves or harvest them from organic farmers in Northern California who we have strong relationships with, when we are unable to source them locally we always buy from reputable herbal companies and purchase organic.

Remedies made with intention

The result is remedies that taste, smell, look, and feel warm, complex, and deeply familiar. It's the kind of remedy you'd brew for someone you love—and that intention is the foundation for everything we create.

Con amor,
Sara Lucia
